Run Faster And Increase Your Vertical

In most sports it is important to developed and increase your leg strength. If you're trying to out jump a cornerback in the back of the end zone, be fastest player in the game, or dunk on a fast break, you need to develop your legs, mainly your thighs and your quick twitch muscle fibers. The reason you can jump higher is the stronger your legs, the more pressure you can exert on the ground. The more developed your quick twitch fibers the faster you run.

The most common exercises to develop leg strength are squats, sprinting, leg presses, calf raises, and jumping rope. Do these exercises on a regular basis and you will definitely see results. Another not so common exercise to increase leg strength are lunges. Football players should start adding lunges to their exercise routines. Lunges have been verified to be effective with experienced football players and other athletes. However, the very best exercise to build leg strength is Squatting. If you do enough squats, you can get away with not doing as many other leg exercises.

If you are unclear about the best exercise routine to follow, you can consult a trainer, or coach. Check the web there is plenty of info on the web. You can watch a few videos , here . You can find more info here , here . Try to find workouts and routines specific to the body part such as legs, arm that you're trying to develop or specific to what your trying to achieve such as increasing you vertical leap or how to run faster.

One thing that affects how high you jump and how fast you are is something called quick twitch muscle fibers. Quick twitch fibers give you short bursts of strength, speed and explosiveness. However, they get tired more quickly.

Find and commit to a workout routine that develop these things and before you know it, you will have increased your vertical leap Forty Yard dash time
